Michael Mörschel is the Head of Division at KfW Development Bank, where he is responsible for infrastructure projects and cooperation with the financial sector in Southern Africa.
Previously, Mr Mörschel was leading a division for Financial Sector development in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia at KfW Development Bank since 2010, in which cooperation with private commercial banks and microfinance institutions were focal points of his activities. In another position in the Policy Department of KfW Development Bank, Mr. Mörschel was responsible for the design of financial instruments for loan and equity financing.
Before joining the Development Bank, Michael Mörschel headed various units within KfW Group, including in the business areas of the Special Asset Group (2004-2010) with a focus on restructuring of funds, and in Venture Capital Financing of technology-oriented start-ups (1995-2003).
Michael Mörschel is a graduate economist and an apprenticed banker.
