The Africa Agriculture and Trade Investment Fund SA. SICAV-SIF” (AATIF) is a closed-ended investment company, organized under the laws of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and is exempt from the scope of the AIFM law pursuant to article 2 (2) c. Only Eligible Investors may invest in AATIF-Shares or Notes respectively.

In respect of the United States of America, Canada, Japan or Australia or any other jurisdiction in which the distribution, offer, sale, transfer or resale would be prohibited by applicable law, no investment in notes/shares or other instruments of the Fund can be offered or made.

Chobe Agrivision Company

In October 2011, AATIF made its initial investment of USD 10 million into the Zambian maize, wheat and soya bean farming operation Chobe Agrivision Company. AATIF's investment is utilised to expand the operations of Chobe and by investing in modern irrigation systems enabling the company to substantially improve regional food security by planting wheat even in months of low rainfall. In order to comply with AATIF's standards, social and environmental requirements have become an integral part of the loan agreement for the company to follow up on, including an action plan on occupational health & safety as well as preventative measures to combat malaria.
